Step Into Philip Pullman’s World

Enter the world of His Dark Materials and explore the setting of the new The Book of Dust series with a walk around Philip Pullman’s Oxford, led by a professional guide.

While studying at Exeter College, Pullman was inspired by Oxford and its university to create his most famous works, and loved the city so much he still lives here!

Fall in love with Oxford as Pullman did, with this 2-hour tour, endorsed by the author himself, providing a fascinating insight into the stories and places that inspired his world-renowned books, as well as the locations used in the filming of the two screen adaptations, The Golden Compass, and BBC’s His Dark Materials.

Explore, as Lyra did, around the Bodleian Library, through The Covered Market, and New College. Our friendly and knowledgeable guide will show you from the outside many of the key locations from Lyra’s Oxford and La Belle Sauvage, and the locations used in filming, such as the two colleges, Christ Church and New College, which were used to portray the fictional Jordan College where Lyra grows up.

Dive into one of Oxford’s best loved fictional iterations on this entertaining and informative tour of one Oxford’s favourite authors.

Entrance to New College and the Divinity School can be arranged and the cost added to your booking fee.
